Lakes forecasted to experience ice-free winters
Lakes are losing ice cover across the Northern Hemisphere. Ice-on is delayed, ice-off is earlier, and the ice-covered season is shorter. In some winters, lakes are beginning to not freeze at all.
We are finding that lakes are losing ice at rapid rates in recent decades, but your data will help us understand why and which lakes are most sensitive to climate change.
